Tagline says “Momming, Running, Traveling, Living” – Let me introduce myself by breaking it down:
Momming: I am a science teacher by trade, but not currently teaching. At this exact moment, I am alternating between sipping iced coffee & typing, mostly with one hand, while holding a (miraculously) sleeping 7 week old boy in the other arm. My almost 3 year old daughter is sitting at the counter next to me, still in her pajamas (it’s 4 pm) and clutching a Paw Patrol balloon. Husband of 6 years, who serves in the USCG & also owns a woodworking business, is out golfing. Must be nice. (Kidding!! He’s the best. *checks location to see if he’s headed home yet*)
Running: Let me tell you a story. Picture it: Alaska, 2013. (In my best Golden Girls “Sophia” voice… Anyone?) We got married in New Orleans in June, and by July we were settling into our new home in south-central Alaska. Culture shock, much? I desperately needed a hobby, and the knitting class I signed up for didn’t work out. (Really… I acted like some of my former high school students- asked to go to the restroom & never went back.) I received an email letting me know that a few of the other Coast Guard spouses were going to start training for the Alaska Salmon Runs taking place during the upcoming Salmon Jam festival weekend (more on that in a later blog post). Thus, my new hobby was born! We currently live in northeast Florida.
Traveling: As a military family, we move around every few years, have family and friends in many different states, and I look for races and run routes on every trip.
Living: Let’s be real- I have no clue how to blog. I’m just going to write about my life.
So, let’s do this!
Looking forward to running your next destination run with you my friend! You are amazing!
