About Me

Cordova, Alaska

I grew up in small-town Mississippi with my parents & two younger sisters. Seriously small- I graduated high school with 28 people & lived just down the road from all of my grandparents, cousins, & church. Life is much different now! I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. in Biology with Licensure & an M.S. in Science Education, & I’m a Delta Gamma alumna. I met my husband purely by chance at the Hard Rock Casino Biloxi almost 10 years ago, & we’ve been married for 6. He’s in the Coast Guard, & after living on the Mississippi coast for a couple of years, we moved to Alaska (where I first started running), then Florida. We have a 3 year old daughter, a new baby boy, & an 8 year old maltipoo. I have taught high school biology, served as an aide for high needs special education students, & worked as a science center curriculum specialist. I’m currently a stay-at-home-mom & work some nights & weekends at a local DIY paint/project studio. I enjoy running, yoga, reading, praying, coffee, hiking in the mountains, sitting on the beach, holidays, & eating too much food.
